The Notepad Design was an opportunity to be a part of every element of a design/product such as designing, mixing ink, printing, and bindery. The challenge for this project was to create an original notepad design that was only two pantone colors.

I started off with ideas of an organic, timeless piece of artwork. After some research, I sketched out a few designs that consisted of tea pots, clocks, leaves, berries etc… The thumbnail sketch that I chose to move forward with was a design of a twin-bell alarm clock with floral arrangements. The two colors that worked best for that organic feel that I was going for were Pantone 5777 and Pantone 157. One of my favorite elements of this design is the roman numerals on the side of the clock. When translated, it is “2024,” my graduation year. I thought that it would be a nice touch since most vintage twin-bell alarm clocks were in roman numerals.
